Support Services
At Bialik, we are pleased to be able to offer a variety of services to support our students' learning and emotional and social needs. In keeping with our pillar of accessibility and to ensure that more Jewish children can have a Jewish education, we have significantly increased the amount of general and Jewish studies resource to our students.
General Studies Resource (Remediation)
Certified resource staff work with identified students in various subject areas in all grades from JK to grade 8. They generally work with students in small groups in the classroom and occasionally in small groups in a resource room.
Hebrew Support
Remedial reading is provided to students in grades 1 and 2, while support in reading and language is available to students in grades
3 to 8.
Second Language support
Resource support is available in ESL (English as a second language), French and Yiddish to new students coming into the school.
Counselling
A qualified social worker delivers a program of pro-social skills and bullying prevention to develop students' social and emotional skills. She is also available for individual and parental consultation.
Psycho-Educational Assessments and Individual and Family Counselling
With the support of UJA Federation, Jewish Vocational Services of Toronto and Jewish Family and Child Services, we are able to provide psycho-educational assessments and individual counseling to identified students.
