Teaching Faculty
Bialik's professional, dedicated and energetic staff are a key element in the continued success of our school.
The administrative and educational programs of Bialik are managed by our administrative team. The structure of the team allows for vertical and horizontal supervision of all aspects of the school's affairs. The Head of School is accountable to the board of directors. The two departments of General and Jewish Studies are each headed by a principal. These principals are in charge of their respective disciplines from junior kindergarten to grade 8. Our vice-principals are each in charge of one of the three school divisions: Preschool (junior and senior kindergarten), Elementary Division (grades 1-5) and Senior Division (grades 6-8). Other areas of the school, such as budget, facilities and non-educational programs, are the responsibility of the school's executive director.
All Bialik teachers are qualified and certified professionals. Our General Studies teachers are certified by the Ontario College of Teachers and our Jewish Studies teachers receive their certification from The Centre for Enhancement of Jewish Education (The Mercaz).
The school strongly encourages, supports and provides its staff - administrators and teachers alike - with opportunities for professional growth. In addition to professional development days conducted by the school and by The Mercaz, teachers are encouraged to pursue additional studies, which are financially supported by the school. Furthermore, all tenured teachers must complete an annual "Growth" program, which is reviewed and approved by the appropriate members of the administrative team.
This ongoing process of renewal allows the school to utilize up-to-date educational theory and practice, ensuring Bialik's place as a leading institution of learning in Toronto.
